I finally got around to installing my kit. Easy installation. It took longer to gather my tools and put them up than it took to install the kit.

I went into this figuring it may not make the hitch mfg happy, but better that than having the trailer sitting on the fenders if my truck.

It's your hitch. Do what you want with it to protect your truck bed. You are your own warranty company.

Had some questions when I started installing my latch kit today. Called Butch, left a message and had a return call in less than 30 minutes. Transfer punch and quality drill bits included made install much easier and go above and beyond most items purchased. Kit appears to be top quality, hope I never need it. Thanks!

Have enjoyed having mine..the only problem that I have encountered is, if you do not align the shaft perfectly with the brackets, it takes a little effort to slide it in and remove it...I have tried sanding the rod, that seems top help and no more metal that I am removing should not affect the safety...Other than that, what a great tool...Hitch Manufacturers should sell this with their Kind Pin Assemblys..

Sure is a good cheap safety item and great when it does come in to use..sure we all make that mistake one time in our lives...being new to 5th wheels I have been scared to death at the darn thing coming loose...saw it happen during the summer at an RV Dealership no less, right in front of the service department, the old couple did not have any fail safe latch's at all, felt so sorry for them..did a lot of damage to their new truck...this should come as standard equipement from the dealership that sells these 5th wheel units..

I bought one from Butch last year but have not yet installed it. I will do that this weekend. I requested from him an extra long handle so I can reach it with a dually rear on my 3500. He made one up for me no problem. Very nice guy to work with. -Paul R. Haller-

Is Butch still in business? Every model shows "out of stock". I have emailed him, but have not received a response back yet.

Does any one know if the Super Glide #2900 ISR 18,000 lb hitch is the same plate as one of the standard Super Glide hitches? Butch does not list the 2900 series hitch.
