Anyone know of a lock that can be used to secure the hitch to the bed rails. Something that would replace one of the pins ? I always worry about someone walking away with my slider.

Just about anything you could put on there (short of welding it in place) could easily be compromised by a determined thief. The safest and surest precaution would be to take it out of the truck when it's not being used.
I don't ever recall anyone saying their hitch had been stolen, not sure if it's anything I'd want to add to my list of stuff to worry about. Most RV'rs are honest individuals and wouldn't take anything not belonging to them. As for the thieves of the world, most of them wouldn't have any interest in a hitch for a fifth wheel, it's not anything they could quickly convert into cash nor would they likely have a need for it themselves.
But, ya never know............ first time for everything.

Have you considered a cover to keep it out of sight, out of mind and protect it from the elements? Should you elect to go that route, do some research, I when with a tonneau cover and it's a pain in the paduff compared to some of the roll and fold ups offered.

Anyone would be hard pressed to "walk" away with a couple hundred pound FW hitch.
However, mine was stolen off the king pin in the storage yard where we keep it - should have had a lock on it, although that may not have made much difference.

I went to TSC and found some pins with holes in them for clips. I reamed out the holes and installed locks in them. Real simple for less the $2 a pin. I am sure most any hardware store would have something similar.

If your base rails are like mine you can do this:
There are four bent pins using a Bobby Pin to secure the hitch to your truck. Drill out the pin hole to 1/4". Depending on how many locks you will use determines the number of pins to drill out.
Works for me. Good luck, Dave
