5th wheel question
I am losing my house so I decided I would buy a fifth wheel with limited money. I found two a 1996 Starcraft it's perfect put no closet space and I'm not crazy about the layout. 7000. Or a 1996 Lumina great layout but needs work 3000. I know the Starcraft is made well but won't have enough money to live unless I find a job the other I can fix for 1000.00 and can live longer if I find a job. What does everyone think please help

Welcome to the forum! As mentioned above you might find better replys in a different section. It takes a while to figure out the sections and I know there are very helpful members with knowledge of your request. I am not knowledgeable of 5th wheels and plead ignorance. Don't give up on though!

I've had fifth wheels since '88 and never heard of the Lumina so can't really help with which is the better choice. But if you do get the Lumina, ask for help here on the forum before spending money for repairs. Plenty of experienced owners here that may be able to save you time and/or money.

Make sure there have been no leaks to de-laminate or rot the sub structure.

Welcome to the forum.
If I was in you situation of limited money and no job, with the two choices you posted, I would go for the lower purchase. When your situation changes, then, upgrade.
Good luck to you,

Googled Lumina...Made by Rockwood.
If doing your own repairs, the stick and tin trailers are much easier to work on in my opinion. If they are of laminated construction and have water leaks, it can be a disaster. I would check what sort of construction this Lumina is made of before diving into it.

First thing I would want to know this time of the year, does the heat in it work
and does it work good.

Where are you going to park it? RVs are very hard to heat and cool. Parking spots can be as expensive as a small apartment per month. That said, old Alpenlites are very built. Have seen 90s models for $6000.00. Have lived in mine for 3 1/2 years.
