I understand your frustration and wish I could help but I truly don't have any knowledge of this trailer.
Unfortunately everybody thinks their trailer is the best and that's why they buy them.... also knocking everybody elses trailer to justify their own purchase is the nature of the forums.

Thanks that is true about their 5th wheel I'm the same way but I finally had to let my Cameo Go it was costing too much to fix seem about a year after they when out of business it started falling apart. So when to trade on another unit and saw this one and bought it. I like to hear good or bad things about a unit so I can look for that first if something goes wrong. Thanks Charles

We went to the factory and took the tour. Nothing impressive just another small company trying to get a foothold in a tough business. Not much dealer network so where do you get it repaired if you're a full timer?
No thanks, I'll stick with my Landmark with outstanding factory support, and a great owners forum.

I believe that would be Warren Buffet.

No, not sure who owns Grand Design. I was told that it is owned by some executives from the industry, just don't know their names.
Warren Buffet owns Berkshire Hathaway which owns Forest River.

If I remember correctly, I believe I read that Grand Design was started by 2 execs who left Thor.
In any case, their initial model in the Solitude with three floorplans. They have announced a second model, the Reflection. I haven't seen where the Reflection is going to in the product lineup yet.
JayC - there is another true full-timer 5er; New Horizon. Very nice coaches but they have no dealer network. I have a friend with a New Horizon that needed warranty work. His option was take it to the factory or use a local dealer and then they get reimbursed. He chose the latter and had a very tough time with the local dealer get reimbursed.

Oh, I absolutely agree that the New Horizon is a very nice trailer. I just cannot afford one.

Will I happy for you they both are built with the same parts Lippert I had a couple small things that need fixing and guess what they paid the dealer to fix it. By the way the guys that started this company start Keystone RV which is owned Thor (Heartland operated by Thor's Keystone subsidiary) . Who is Heartland owned by and is it a clone. Get off you soap box every company starts small If you are saying that Buffet owns Grand Design he is betting on the guy's that left Thor. When the top 3 guys at a company leave to start a company they have an idea it’s going to make it. The sad thing for me is that Carriage when under so I traded my 2008 Cameo 37re3 now that was a true full time 5th wheel and its dealer network was small but you had no problem getting things fixed on it if it was something you could not fix yourself.

The company was started by the two brothers that started keystone RV and there CEO for a total of the three guys from Keystone (Don Clark and brothers Ron and Bill Fenech which Keystone has 25%+ of the towable market) of the 87 dealers they have I called 8 and all theirs where sale pending So my wife found a Redwood 2013 her next choice in Tampa at Lazdays RV so we went down to buy it, we got there She was talking to the salesman and he had one Solitude that did not have a contract on it so we looked at it and bought it.
