I have a 96 Alpenlite Apple Tree 34 RL and the main slide stops half way out then I wait 5 min and it will finish going out. The gear box or screw auger sounds loud and annouing but I can't figure out how to lube it, Anyone have this problem?

Hi Mark, I have a 2007 Alpenlite and power to my slide comes from a 30 amp circuit breaker, could it be that your slide motor is starting to go bad and needing heavier loads to operate and opening the CB. Once it cools it starts working again? You may want to check out the slide motor before it goes belly up. Of course it won't go bad until you are out at a remote camp spot. Good Luck. Kevin

I remember that in the years around your alpenlite's age the slide had a brass gear maybe but not sure what the part was but it would break some teeth. I don't believe that alpenlite had the power gear slide product. The man I know that had this problem died last winter.
