A/C heat IR thermostat failure

We bought an 07 Challenger 5th wheel a couple of years ago. It is in great condition but little things are starting to have problems. I'll post in separate threads to try and keep it simple.
It has a single Coleman Mach HVAC unit which works well. The problem is the RCP Infra red remote thermostat. Upon inspection it appears humidity has corroded the circuit board. It's ruined.
I've called three different RV dealers and got three different answers, none of which were helpful. The general consensus was that I needed to replace the entire A/C unit. Discouraged, I consulted Google. I'm amazed that in such a huge industry its so difficult to find answers to seemingly simple questions. Ok, now I'm rambling.
My question... can I just order a Coleman Mach analog thermostat and wire it directly to the control board on my AC unit? Thanks for ANY help
