All solid surface countertops are acrylic. The quote below is from a DuPont bulletin describing their Corian solid surface countertop material:
"DuPont Corian solid surface is a solid, non-porous, homogeneous surfacing material composed of ~1/3 acrylic resin (also known as polymethyl methacrylate or PMMA) and ~2/3 natural minerals."
Corian and Wilsonart are 2 of the more common brands of solid surface countertop material. If you check out their websites, there are numerous bulletins available detailing the installation, care and repair of solid surface material.
The solid surface material in the motorhome we previously had a satin finish. It was easier to care for than the glossy material we have in our current 5th wheel because it didn't show scratches as easily. The good news is, in addition to the fact we find the glossy material to be more attractive, scratches, even deep ones, can be polished out.
As for routine care, we use a weekly application of Hope's Perfect Countertop Polish
(also available at Lowe's). It does a good job of cleaning and protecting.
