Anyone ever try adding a DSI to thier WH? Is it possible?

Charlie,

You can buy a pilot reignitor, and they work pretty well.

In order to add real DSI to your W/H you would need to disable the manual gas valve, add an electric gas valve (about $130), add a control board (another $130), rig up a thermostat somehow (more $$$), and wire up a switch. If you really want DSI, it would be cheaper and easier to replace the current W/H with a DSI unit.

There is a company in Elkart that sells last years, surplus, and used appliances. I can't remember the name or where I discovered it though. There is a list of RV salvage yards somewhere on the net also. Maybe here: HooRaa for search engines!
