A small red led with holder from radio shack wired by the switch to be on when switch is off would do it ,and make it easy to find the switch the led could be in the cover for the switch ,you could rig it to be always on or any way you want. they come in all sizes 12v with Holder about 1/4 round chrome about two fifty $ and and you just push in to the hole you drill for the led to fit. easy . The LED setup that Don saw was a 5mm Red LED (276-307) from Radio Shack with a 470 ohm resistor (271-1317) and a LED Holder (276-079) and Heat Shrink Tubing and stranded wire. Solder the resistor to the pos LED leg and attach wire "pig"¯ tails to the resistor and the neg LED leg , use heat shrink to cover the exposed positive wire, resistor etc. Your choice on how to wire, in my Desert Fox I have wired it into the bathroom fan circuit, which is controlled by a wall switch. This idea is from a very old Trailer Life 10 min tech. My wife does not like lights turned on after she goes to bed and I like some light when I have to go and one red LED works fine in the bathroom and she does not complain to much about the red LED.
