My better half wants to buy a recliner to put in or new to us 5th wheel. Sunnybrook 2001 w/full living room slide. Can we go to a regular furniture store to buy, or do we have to order from a rv store?

Thanks to all that answer

Hi B/C welcome to irv2 as I see this is just your 2nd post. I found a recliner at Walmart for 189 bucks that was lightweight and fit right into our 5ver. It had an imatation suede cover in light brown that fit our decor perfectly. It replaced the recliner that came with the rig that was heavy, ugly and not very comfortable.

We took the couch out of our old Terry and put in two medium sized recliners from Lazy Boy.

I have to say that they were more RV friendly than the ones that came with our Mtn Aire, which we plan on replacing with Lazy Boys in the future.

You can also do a search for the "euro" recliners. They are really quite comfortable and with the separate foot rests they are easy to move and accomodate people of different sizes.

We did it another way. We bought an Ikea chair with a separate matching foot stool. It is much lighter that a normal recliner and does the job quite well.

Hi,
We have a Titanium that came with new recliners. We traded them out for the old style IKEA recliners/footstools. Much lighter.
Palliser makes Euro recliners/footstools in leather ultra/suede all colours and styles. Eckornes also makes big dollar reliners. The lazy Boy if you buy right are a good deal and the backs should slide off to make it easy to get thru the door.

We purchased Lazyboy recliners to replace the factory recliners, which we thought were very uncomfortable. Our previous unit had the euro style chairs. While comfortable, the foot stool is ALWAYS IN THE WAY, unless your setting with your feet on it. You cannot put it away or walk without the footstool being in the way it seems.
But before you run to the store, be sure and measure to find the maximim size you can use if they are going in a slide or might have a clearance problem. The only thing wrong with the Lazyboy's, besides being to comfortable, the new Lazyboys are to easy to fall asleep in.

IKEA does have a recliner in leather (Malung) that is pretty good (doesn't show on their website, but is available at stores). We considered these as we were looking, but finally went to craigslist.com and found 2 leather Palliser euro recliners/ottomans for $125 - like new.

Much improvement over the big, clunky reclieners that came with the rig. If I was ordering a new RV, I would delete the recliners and buy myself.
