Alfa fifth wheel storage Bed

The storage Bed in our Alfa fifth wheel will not latch down. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is a new use fifth wheel to us and the first time we have taken it out. We bought a new mattress. It is one of the ones that have to expand over 48 hours. In the Alfa you travel with the bed up so once we arrived we have not been able to get it to stay down. Not happy camper at the moment.

Ours doesn't latch down either....because we are missing the actual latch. But our mattress is heavy enough to hold it down.

There is a d ring that is screwed to the bottom of the bed. It then goes into a latch, and there is a knob to actuate the latch by the hamper drawers.
If you have the d ring on the bed (we do not....) It should be as simple as dropping the bed down and then it should auto latch (like a gate). Then pull the knob to release.

It also has a sensor in it which will disable the slide if it's down...

I can take a picture if you need. We bought ours "broken" and honestly it's never been a problem.

It like the B ring will not hole onto it. We have been holding off on opening up the mattress trying to get it fixed first. Maybe we should just go on and open up the mattress and hope like you said that the weight will hold it down.

Try pushing the latch back in? when the bed is down?

I would try deploying the Mattress. Ours with the Foam Mattress and bedspread on it is plenty of weight to keep it down. Its on my to do list to fix....but its an 15 year old Alfa so its a long list .

My closet door track is currently trying to fall down again for the 3rd time....
