Andersen brake-a-way cable attachment

How is everyone attaching their cable for the brake-a-way emergency brake to the Andersen hitch?

I have an aircraft cable attached to the frame independent of the hitch. I hook the break away to that cable. That way in the improbable event of a total hitch failure the break away will still activate properly.

X2 regardless of hitch brand. Mine is attached to a cargo tie down in the truck.

Do you have to use chains with the Anderson hitch?

I've read that some states do require chains with the Andersen. Some claim that it's a fifth wheel hitch and chains are not required. In all honesty, I don't see how it can be considered anything but a ball hitch. I have chains for mine.

I allways used chains when I had & used the AUH. It's confusing here in Texas, ball/gooseneck require chains but in next sentence says All fifthwheel hitchs excempt Easier to explain why I used chains than trying to explain to the Judge why I didn't.
