Andersen ultimate and frame warranty

I'm in talks with purchasing a new 5th wheel and the dealer states they will install a new hitch for $500. As I already have bed rails I was going to purchase an andersen ultimate due to its lightweight and reports of no chucking. His response to that was it would void the lippert frame warranty due to its similarity to a gooseneck. Is this true?

Totally bogus info. The dealer just wants to scare you so he can make a buck off you.
He's obviously misinformed about the Andersen.
By the way it's not a cure for chucking. You're are either going to have or not. If you have it now you'll still have it with the Andersen. Many hitches out there tow just as well as the Andersen. B&W is one.
Chucking is the result of a pin that's too light or other criteria.
The light weight of the Andersen is really the only benefit.

I really don't think that is true. CHUCKING has nothing to do with the hitch. Loose hitch is a loose hitch.

Does light make it good?

It sure does. Not everybody can muscle around 200 lbs.

Andersen carries their own supplemental insurance for $5 million. I love mine.

See bottom of page. Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection

Oh yes!!

Last week after we setup in a campground I removed the hitch and stowed it in a basement compartment. This provided a clean bed to haul our inflatable kayaks to variuos spots. I love the added flexibility the light weight Andersen provides!

Towing lighter RV's they are fine IMHO. Towing HEAVY like I do there is no way I would trust the light design. They have already had to re design their hitch because of the tubes bending under hard braking.

Light RV with light hitch ok in my book but no way with heavier RV's.

All JMHO.

If ever there was a hitch I would buy it would be the Andersen Ultimate. Did a lot of research on hitches and this one impressed me most. I didn't get one because we changed our plans and settled on a TT instead of a 5r.

There are many excellent hitches out there, for sure, but none as convenient to set up/down as the Andersen.

Do it!

Yup. And that's what I got for the TT I was just saying about the Ultimate 5th Wheel hitch they have. I love my hitch too. It's soooo simple to use and set up.

I'm at 19000 lbs and I'm OK. The Andersen spec is 24,000 lbs. So heavier RV's must be greater then 24,000 lbs. Those numbers are fact and not just a Humble Opinion.
