Another tire question......SORRY!

new tire time.225/75R 15
can get maxxis 8 ply rating or gladiator 10 ply rating for 146.00 less.I never heard of gladiator line and maxxis seems to be in the forms quite often with O.K results......any thoughts?

Buy tires based on load rating and quality not on price. Your first blowout on the road will eat up any savings you might realize from a cheaper quality tire or a lower load rating.

Buy a tire with enough rating plus some reserve that fits the trailer weight. Like noted, all it takes is one blow out and you will be out several thousand dollars in trailer repair.

Tires and brakes are two places to not cut corners.

A couple of years ago I needed trailer tires so after a lot of research I found Maxxis to be the best tires for the application. One of their advantages is having a fiberglass band which helps to prevent them coming apart if you do have a failure.

If you really want to buy American, then check into Cooper Tires. they are still made in OHIO. Might have something to fit your needs.

Safe and Happy Trails....

That's for sure!

I went from a Chinese ST235/80R16 to a Bridgestone LT235/85R16. The Bridgestone had a lower capacity (but still enough for my 5th wheel) and was a much better tire...translation...NO problems.
