Kind of reminds me of the saying "If it is not broke, work on it till it is" LOL
If everything is working why would you want to take stuff apart?

I've found two hidden compartments that way - so far. One had playing cards, a weird CD and a book on porn videos.
The other was already empty - but a nice find for future use. Complete with phony front cover and cardboard box interior.
Also, he was learning about the plate. Which may help locate items or route new installs in the future.
I like to find where water and LP pipes are, as well as electrical components.

Well, I'm a mechanic by nature, and by trade, so I'm just always naturally curious. I haven't really taken anything apart. I just want to know how all of the systems in my coach work, so if (and when) things go wrong, I'll have an idea of how to troubleshoot them. DRV has already let me know that obtaining a wiring schematic is not possible, so everything I find is part of my ongoing discovery mission.

Well, it is a break in the hot (pos) line of the 120system to control something. Looks to me like an auto switch but have no idea what the threaded conn is for, nor the item under the clamp. Might be temp sensitive? And nothing connected to the NC terminal...
Sure looks like whatever it is was designed to do more than it is being used for.

I think it is the business end of a momentary switch. NO means normally open and NC means normally closed. The missing push button cover would momentarily close the circuit when pressed allowing current to flow to something. The common wire would normally have +12volts on it. These can be used as a trigger to send or interrupt current when pushed depending on how it is wired.

Some type of thermal switch for freeze protection maybe? Makes no sense to be normally open switch and enclosed in a box. The threaded connector looks like it would thread into a 1/2 inch electrical fitting. Tampabiker, that's a good one. Anyway to trace the wires from the panel and see which breaker controls it?
I'd have to know the answer to that one myself!

My bad on not having everything connected the way I found it. If you look at the third picture, those two yellow wires joined at the connector plugs into the end of where the threaded part is. I unplugged it just to pull the whole thing out of the box. I've been emailing back and forth the last few days with a DRV tech in Elkhart, so I'll send it to him and see if he can tell me about it.

Right behind the box the yellow wires come out of, they're connected to a pair of wires that go up the chute on the left side in photo #3. Since I have several control modules in the cabinet just above the one pictured, I'll pull them to see if I can isolate the wires.
