Any KZ Durango owners here?

We just purchased a 2017 Durango 2500 and was curious about other KZ owners on the forum to discuss particulars. No issues here, just want to learn from other's experiences.

We owned a 2001 KZ Sportsmen, loved it and used it extensively and is the reason we went back to KZ.

Hi CaroliNole, we have a Durango 1500 that we bought new in 2015. We looked at a lot of campers before we bought it and it was the only one that had a kitchen layout that made sense, we bought the 1500 for its light weight and height. check out the KZ family forum - that has a lot of KZ owners. We have had only one issue that needed repair, one slide motor was inadequately welded to the support bracket and came loose, the night before we were to leave on a 2 week trip, it was repaired by our dealer so we could take the trip, and replaced when we got home. other minor issues like weak supports for the sewer drains and controls were beefed up by myself, after noticing they were working loose. overall we have been satisfied with the quality, even though i'm not impressed with the finish carpentry work, (I've built houses and do remodel work, so I am persnickety about finish carpentry, and notice things others might not)

Thanks TightwadTed, I have joined the KZ site as well but felt there may be a some KZ folks on here as well. Seems that the KZ owners are hard to find.....

No matter, we really like our new fiver and plan to have it a long time. Don't seem to have any issues with the framing and/or trim work. Have not had it out to check on the other drain issues you mentioned yet.

Thanks again for the reply.

Hi CaroliNole,

I have a Durango Gold G384RLT. The DW and I love our KZ. When we did the PDI we found some cosmetic issues, mainly the trim around the slides.
Some of that trim was a little crooked, most probably would not have noticed. The other issue I had was housekeeping. A lot of excess glue. Take a micro fiber towel and run it over every flat surface. The microfiber will grab every excessive glue spot/drop. Have not had any other problems. No plumbing problems incoming or out going. We are part timers living 5-6 month in ours (we winter in Florida) and so far it's been a wonderful well thought out, well put together unit.

Are you coming to the KZ National Rally this summer?? WE would love to see you there.
