Well, we've ruled out a Grand Junction due to quality issues. We used to own a Montana Mountaineer and although we found the quality good, the smell was terrible and even after two years could never get it out. (Allergy/asthma issues here...) Anyway, the only other 5th wheels we like in our area are the Big Country's ( a little more pricey) and one random Lexion by Starcraft. Both are higher end and seem really nice. The Starcraft is more what we want to spend (about $39) but we find it weird that no one seems to have heard of these, and wonder about quality. The Big Country is awesome, but like I said, a little pricey - more like $48 (esp. since we only go camping a couple of times a month..) Gotta' make a decision soon, as the summer is slipping away and the kids will be back in school. Anyway, it's now down to these two... Would love any input! Thanks so much!

Starcraft was a well known name a few years back, but went away. I don't know who owns the name now. we looked at a Lexion a few moths back and while it is pretty, there seemed to be a lot of trim issues.

The tires and axles under the trailer we looked at were marginal at best and made in CHINA. They really need to up the tire size for a bit of reserve rating.

A old fellow once told me...Son, don't buy no cars with skinny tires.

I own a Big Country and am EXTREMELY happy with it. You truly do get what you pay for. I did a lot of research on the Heartland 5ver line (the maker of the Big Country) as well as several other manufacturers. I owned a heartland TT prior to the Big Country and decided to stay with them. There are so many upgrades that are standard with the Big Country that are options with a lot of other makes. Besides the different floorplans and craftsmanship, what really drew me to the BC was all the other features that really make it easy to operate and set up. You can't go wrong with the BC.
