How do you fit bigger/bulkier things through the door on an RV if you have to replace them? Mainly what comes to mind is a refrigerator.

Do you pull a slide? Is that possible? Or major surgery?

Slide removal is possible, but may not be necessary , and I've seen 4 door fridges going through a removed living room window; pictures here in the forums.
My own washer/dryer combo unit had to come into the bedroom through the escape window then into the bathroom , because the pocket door to the bedroom was wider than the , one from the bath to the kitchen.

A lot of things actually will go through the door, but not all. Most furniture will disassemble like recliner, sofa etc. my fridge will go through the door, but I have to take the fridge doors off so it can barely squeeze through. But some are as stated in above reply, you have to remove a window to slide things through. Like class A rigs the windshield has to be removed to move in or out a residential fridge. The rvia states you must have a opening large enough for the largest item made and/or installed during manufacturing phase in that particular RV to be able to be moved out or in. Again this may be a entry door, large picture window, side window, windshield.
