Dutchmen Voltage toy haulers have three axles. They're being manufactured and sold to date.

I don't believe there is any law anywhere about how many axles a vehicle can have--the limiting legality in some places is weight per axle. And an RV will never approach the legal limit per axle--they put a third axle to support weight of the unit WITHOUT having to go to dual wheels per axle side.
The normal highest weight rating of a two-wheel axle is 8000 lbs. To go higher, you have to have 4 wheels per axle. Its basically a tire limit deal.

Wrong, that's not a camper, its a fifth wheel rv. Tent trailers, fold outs and pop ups are campers.

Have you seen some of those rigs carrying the blades for the power generating wind mills? They have around 18 axles and are the longest things I have seen on the road. Wow, they need special equipment to get around most corners. Impressive to see. We had a triple axle toy hauler and no one hassled us about the size or number of axles.

You haven't really seen a long trailer will lots of axles/wheels til you have seen the rigs used to transport used nuclear waste from the Columbia River to the Hanford, Wash, storage site--I think there are over 200 tires on them--and a special road for them.

The tolls would be missing out on money when they charge me per axle if there were only two.
