Auto Shut-off for stove when slide closed

I have a 2015 Cougar SGS, and apparently there is an auto gas shut-off for the stove, when the slide is completely shut. When partially open the stove works normal. Does anyone have any details on this ? No info provided in Cougar owners manuals or stove manuals.

I don't know about a shut off valve, the slide may be pinching the gas line.

On our 2016 Cougar SGS, the gas line was kinking under the slide. It would work with slide out, and kink shut with slide in ... I rerouted the gas line a little till we had it replaced under warrenty. Sounds like your problem. Not hard to fix...

Smile Auto Shut off for stove

Thank you Brewurown & Monkey ! Checked it this morning and sure enough it was a pinched poly gas line when the slide on the 28SGS was closed. Plan to reroute and have another line made for the unit. Three hour drive to dealership, so cheaper to get new line and replace myself. Thank you so much for the prompt feedback.

We had that feature too on our Alfa Gold. The gas line was being pinched when the slide was pulled in. Seems to not be as uncommon as I thought.

Glad I checked this thread. My dad just picked up a cougar 331 and I'll have to look and see if his is getting pinched. Don't want a problem down the road.

We are here to help each other ! Glad you found us ... I also looked into having a new line made, but our dealer is 15 minutes away, and there was a few other "new rv" things to be addressed... Took me 10-15 minutes to make a small L bracket and turn the hose connection so it was good,,, (before replacement) ... Just make sure you turn off the tanks (both of them) before you remove the line... (just saying I'm getting old,,, I need reminding from time to time.... ) Mine was kinking at the L fitting where it comes out of the floor... A small L bracket there with hose clamps and turning it a bit,,, had the wife (DW) work the slide in and out while I watched it,,, no probs... Good luck,,,, Monkey

I rerouted mine a bit & it works great. I plan to keep an eye on the line for a while. The line does not appear to have any damage, so I may not need to replace. Thanks again for sharing Monkey.
