So im getting a new awning and when I removed the old one the spring tension spun out. How do I safely remove the new one from the donor camper sobi can install it on mine with out messing anything up. Thanks!

If your using the whole assy the spring (s) won't unwind....as long as you leave the roller locked.

There are holes to insert cotter pins.
Roll out the awning a foot. Leave in roll out position. I would still cotter pin it. Unscrew everything, slide it out of the rail, reinstall, remove cotter pins.
