Went to my 5th today and found the batteries low. Would the led clock on the microwave and stereo drain my battery when parked in storage?

Yes along with other devices such as CO detector, Smoke detector etc.
Wet cell batteries will loose charge on their own at a rate from 2-15% per month.

Absolutely. You should use your battery cutoff switch or disconnect the batteries while your unit is in storage. At the same time, you'll want to charge your batteries monthly or leave them on a battery tender. Hope your batteries aren't cooked.

I shut down 12v chassis and House battery banks when I leave it stored I also have solar panels which keep the batteries charged. Even turned off there is still a phantom drain.

ok thanks, I will check with the local RV place to see what they have for a battery cut off.

Find your 12v fuse panel and see if there isn't a shut off there. Some place in the Rv should already be a shut off for the batts. Mine is a push/pull type switch on the fuse panel next to the 12v fuses. Pete

I have a really dumb question.. we are prior motorhome owners who purchased a new fifth wheel this summer, I don't understand the battery cutoff switch.. Does the OFF position mean the battery is NOT connected and the ON mean it is or is it CUTOFF ON /CUTOFF OFF?

On mine OFF means battery is not connected. You could use a voltmeter and see if there is voltage to the 12 volt fuse panel to check.

I think you have it right. "Cut off on" and "cut off off". Who comes up with this stuff? H
as to be a red neck because "on" and "off" are usually good enough. Turn a lamp on and then turn the switch off and on to see which position is which.

I know there are plenty of things in a trailer/mh that can drain a battery but, I have had several with microwaves and the LED clock didn't lite until you connected shore power
