battery gassing question
Outback 36. Came with one batt vented to outside. Room for a second. Added second but the existing vent box doesn't cover both. Is this a big issue ? Must I get a double or second box cover to vent both? Split the discharge hose some way ? Been using this way for months with no noticible adverse effects ? Advice appreciated

Yes! Hydrogen gas can be produced by the batteries. One spark and... well, it won't be pretty. It would help if you posted a pic of your set-up.

You'd think they would come up with a way to pipe it back into the carb to save gas.

Since the gas is lighter than air, you can install a Wye in the hose to the 2nd battery box. Just make sure the hose is inclined from the batteries to the outside vent.

battery storage box
I made my own box after switching from one 12volt to two 6volts.
