Best 5th wheel for 35000 miles per year driving?
We do lots of travel and are looking to find an RV built to handle these kinds of miles. The 3500 drw Longhorn can handlle most anything.

Wow! 35,000 miles per year is almost averaging 100 miles per day towing.
We average 14K miles per year towing our Excel, and I thought we towed a lot. It has held up well. I am running Never Fail Bushings and CenterPoint Air Ride Suspension.

I would think most higher end units would work well IF you change out the 5ers suspension to one of the after market independent type as well as an air hitch in the truck. Throw some 17.5 rib tires on also. That many miles with the roads the way they are will take it's toll on the unit IMO.

Unit has 225/70/19.5 tires and it is alot of miles. Thinking either DRV moble suites or Dutchstar motorhome.

wow, that is quite a few miles per year. W have been FULLTIMING for almost five years. We do about. 11,000 miles a year. Plenty for us. Do you stop and see the sites?. Good luck.

With that many miles I don't know if any high-end or even traditional fifth wheel would be up to the challenge. I would actually suggest something custom built on a flatbed gooseneck type trailer. These trailers will generally have far greater weight capability as well as excessively build frame rails. DRV would be your next best bed with their boxed frame and independent suspension.

Whatever RV you decide I would HIGHLY advise the MorRyde IS suspension and Disk brakes.

Most people don't come near 35000/year WITHOUT towing---that is an ambitious plan.
I have a feeling this won't work out well, no matter what he is towing--this will be putting 2-3 years average travel miles on the trailer every year----lots of wear and tear.
Cummins is right--Morryde IS for sure, disc brakes for stopping--'cause in that many miles, there is a lot of opportunity to have to stop FAST.
Going to be interesting to see where this goes, if he keeps up informed.

MorRyde IS is great, but repairs are difficult due to few authorized service centers and parts. Towing that far and often might be easier with conventional leaf spring suspension. Repairs and parts much easier to find.

Alignment must be done at an authorized service center with the proper equipment.
A friend with MorRyde IS had a component failure and was stuck in a remote area for almost 2 weeks waiting for parts. If he had leaf spring suspension, he would have been back on the road in a day or two at most.
