Best 5th wheel w/front living

We are looking to move from our dutchstar into a 5th wheel and we really like the ones with the front living area. What brands should we be looking for and which should we stay away from. We full time so we need almost everything on it. Any suggestions would help in the search.

Thanks
C & P

We thoroughly enjoy our 2012 Open Range 386FLR for all the room it has for our everyday living stuff and also for the two basements one under the front living room and one under the rear bedroom) which give us so much storage space, not to mention the generator storage locker up front which is also available to us since we didn't get the generator. Also the Open Range crest on the front is actually a window! It also handles well behind a 1-ton pickup. On the whole, we found this ideal for full-timing.

This depends on how much you are willing to spend. I would think you could go to Forks RV and or Space Craft and have your dream 5er built with the front living room. But this will be over $150K!

I do not know if DRV builds a front living room model or not but this is one that could be used for fulltime living also.

Bay Hill 379 or the new 375 , Redwood 39FL, Cardinal 3825, Rushmore "Lincoln", and
Keystone Montana 3710FL and I would also look at the Keystone Montana 3790RD or 3791RD. Do your homework and shop around...use RVTrader. Price range $65k-$85
There are others, but for starters these are all good units with minimal complaints.

I do not know if any of these units would qualify for full time living especially the Keystone products. Which as far as manufactures are; they are on the bottom of the list of builders that I would deal with. Been there done that.

I do know people full time in them but just read all of the issues with some of the models. This gentleman is also coming from a Newmar product so I do not think he would be will to take a subpar 5er. That's Why I suggested the very high end 5ers.

We are looking at possibly doing the same thing. I've been looking at 5ers for a few weeks now. I've looked at the cheap to the expensive and old to new. New build is worse than old. Old is just too old and ugly. Keystone was one of the worst in new I looked at.

I can't believe the quality control issues is see everywhere! It's unbelievable! Popped moldings, split moldings, moldings cut too short, sloppy caulking and just poor fit and finish in general.

I've been in construction for 40 years and take pride in my work.

EVERYTHING I've looked at is sub-par to our Beaver coach.
My wife is going to have to blindfold me every time I come home if this changeover happens.

Man.....I'm gonna have a hard time making this switch!

Jim

DRV offers a front living in their tradition line. Nice trailer.

All Bay Hill models are certified for full time. We are earnestly contemplating purchasing as soon as DW and I do factory tour August 7th and we like what we see!
