Best product to use to remove oxidation?
I have some oxidation and I want to remove it before waxing. I have an orbital buffer but just want to make sure I use the right stuff. Thanks.

I had good success with Meguire's Ultimate Compound on my 10 year old gel coat travel trailer. It was easy to use with a random orbital polisher.
For more advance oxidation, try 3M Marine Restorer and Wax with the random orbital polisher. It is more difficult to remove after application than the Meguire's Ultimate Compound.
Meguire's Ultimate Compound is available at most Walmart stores.
You will need to apply a wax after compounding. My favorite is Starbrite Premium Marine Polish.

My oxidation isnt to bad but I just want to get it off before waxing. I'll look into those products you linked.

Bar Keepers Friend...
It is a non-abrasive product that works great. Most grocery stores carry it. Look in the section where Comet is.
Its a whole lot cheaper per can than the 3M products.
Dampen a rag, shake powder on, work into a paste, wipe on like you would hand washing, rinse off with water.

Just reading and wonder if this will work on the filon sides as well?

Hmmm..... Always nice to hear of cheaper ways of doing something. I know this product too but wonder how well it can work since it is kinda like comet. Would almost seem to be more aggressive than a paste or liquid product.  I think I may even have some so I'll have to try a little.

It works fine on Filon sides. Its non-abrasive so it doesn't scratch like comet does.

Bar Keeper now makes a liquid that may also work.
