Black tank drain slowly
The tank gauge appears to work normal.
Starts out empty after dump and over time goes to 1/3 then 2/3. I fill with to full with the flush. Will I open the dump valve it drains slow covering only about the bottom 1/3 of the drain outlet with very little pressure. The gauge slowly goes back to empty.
I refill with the flusher and gauge goes back to full. This time when I open the the valve it drains full force.
I just bought a clear 45 to add to the drain about a mouth ago and have noticed this since then.
This has me puzzled.

Happy Prospector, I like your suggestion. Much better to use your natural macerator on the top end then one of those expensive ones on the discharge end 😜

Have you tried flushing it out more often? We do ours twice a week.

When at a campground I never keep hooked up to the sewer line. I only dump the tank when it is 3/4 full.
When I am on the road, I only dump the black once a week. All that stuff sloshing around keeps everything liquid and clean, if you can call sewage clean.
I never have had any problem. Nor have I ever rinsed the tank.

Yep, that's been what I've done ever since we got RV's with toilets and holding tanks.
But, the previous owner of our Magna evidently didn't know how to use the tanks so I'm trying to clean out what he left in the black tank. Spent an hour at the last campground doing nothing but running the black tank flush. Got it sitting beside the house with Rid-X in the tank now since we probably won't be going out till Labor day.

maybe when they drilled the hole in the tank for the plumbing the waste piece dropped into the tank and they left it in there, sometimes when you dump the waste plastic plugs the drain and the next time it doesn't see if you can see it floating around in the tank while you are flushing or draining

Check your roof vent. Black or grey tanks must be vented to dump properly. Dirt dobbers or wasps or leaves can stop up a vent. Good luck.

Should be easy to check on a plugged vent--with the water off, flush the toilet while the tank is draining--if the flow increases, you have an answer.
