In fact, the rpms randomly increase without a load, but the unit remains at an idle when a load is applied. I tried contacting the company I bought the unit from in CA., but never received a response after numerous phone calls and emails.

Question of the day, would you buy another Boliy generator knowing now that you won't have a warranty worth the paper it is printed on? If you have to buy two Boliy generators you are already into it for more than the Honda. Lest we forget that I would guess the Honda to be more fuel efficient.

I had looked at and considered the Boliy, but decided in the end, I would be better off with a pair of Honda EU2000i generators. Much better warranty coverage.

As for seeing Hondas in the shop, the biggest problem with them or any generator is lack of use and lack of maintenance. Most people just do not use them or take care of them.

In hindsight, no....I wouldn't have bought the Boliy. I was hoping that the generator would have caught on a little better and that the support/service would have kept pace with the sales. I think my mistake was buying it from a guy who invested in one sea container of the units, and when he sold them all, he fell off the face of the earth. I took a chance, and got burnt.
That said, I'm sure there's many out there that are purring along without a glitch. I just don't have the luck to own one...

You can Google Boliy and find dealers that can get you the parts you need to get it to running like it needs to be or you can sale it to me for $50.bucks. LOL

Camping world is now selling the Champion 4000 genset for $299. The new ones are pretty quiet. Not bad if you want a genset for occasional use, but you still need to keep it properly maintained if you want it to work when you need it. My Boliy is now 6 years old and runs very well; unless I forget to keep fresh gas in the tank and run it an hour once a month under load. Kinda wish it would give me a reason to buy a new one_with electric start.

This Champion 4000 weighs around 105lbs. My Boliy weighs 75lbs with a full tank. Best thing about it -- I can pick it up & set it where I want without help. I've use it now 10 times this past summer in 90 degree heat (Florida) to operate my campers 13.5btu a/c and others WITHOUT A PROBLEM. Just remember to shut off a/c temporary if using the microwave. I ALWAYS set it on Econo-mode to save gas - runs 10hrs on 1 tank. So far, never had any issues. Worth every penny. So, if you need a lite, easy to carry genset & quiet too -- get the Boliy.

Send a message via Skype™ to Bobbyh
Hi All,
I just used my Boliy to partially power my house after we lost power in this latest storm.
It worked great for the 18 hours we needed it. We used to power our heat, sump pump, frig., TV, and surround sound sound, computer, related electronics and lights coffee pot, microwave and toaster oven. It didn't skip a beat. I just had to go out every 8 hours and filler up.

Used Boliy for Sandy

We used our Boliy for 5 days during hurricane Sandy. Never missed a beat. Ran about 9 hours on a fill-up powering refrigerator and sump pump. Also used this summer at Yellowstone to run wifes hair dryer and charge batteries. Tested with our AC no problems runs quiet.

Our Boily got used for several days during Tropical Storm Irene and several times during the 2011-2012 winter - never missing a beat. It was never started again for several months until Sandy was threatening. I hooked it up to the house (through the Gen-Tran isolator) and gave it a trial run - while it gagged with the old fuel, it started up and ran pretty well. Ran it dry, added fresh gas, starts and runs just fine now. Why any one would have problems filling it through the filler filter - don't understand - unless he is using that ridiculous EPA mandated gas can/filler nozzle, every one of which I've had caused more spills then the straight filler. So far, the 5 gal. diesel cans I had seen at Tractor Supply didn't have that spout - just spray bomb the can red if you are worried you might 'interchange' if you also have a diesel engine on something.

Now, if I was really needing a generator on a regular basis, there are, for sure, better choices.

This is for everyone who owns a Boliy generator.
I have found that the best source for Boliy parts is:
admin@bottomlinetrading.com That email address is on their website:bottomlinetrading.com
Email them with what parts you require (the blow-up diagram is in your owners manual) and they will reply with 2-3 days, depending on how busy they are at the time. I just bought a new carburetor from them for $39, as Boliy does not sell carburetor parts, just the complete carburetor. From my first email to delivery to my house, it took 4 days. (they use paypal)

Mine came with a bottle of oil, it only takes a pint of oil. The Boliy Service manuals have a lot of information, including the engine speed issue Nitrohorse experienced. Most parts are plug-and-play. The downside, you must be able to discern what that Chinese interpretation is talking about.
