Brand new FR Sierra Furnace NOT working!!

Anyone out there with any ideas please share! We JUST bought our FR Sierra on Sept. 8th, 2015 model. So far, the converter stopped working as soon as we pulled it off the lot & had to replace. Now the furnace is not working-we turned it on Thursday night, worked great, Friday night turned it on & it wouldn't shut off even after adjusting the thermostat temp. We tried to shut the thermostat completely off and it kept running! Tried turning it back on, it will kick on the blower for about 30 seconds and shut back off on any temp.

We are full timers & have been for a few years, with a small child & using supplemental heat sources-which I don't feel comfortable with.
We can't get any help from the dealer as they want us to bring it to them, which is impossible and we can't get FR to return any calls.

We have checked the battery, propane system, regulator, fuse, not sure what it could be.

NOT a happy camper at the moment-thanks for any feed back

If you can't get it to the dealer that you purchased it from, another rv repair facility should be able to help you. The furnace has its own warranty and the repair facility should be able to bill the furnace manufacturer.

Sorry you've had issues, buying new doesn't mean it will be 100%. You didn't mention what make of furnace you have, I suggest you find make and model number then Google the owner's manual. There are a number of YouTube videos available also on troubleshooting and repair. With the running after thermostat calls for shut down and the fan coming on for 30 seconds, it could be a number of things. As has been said, you don't need to return to a RV dealer, many places can do warranty repairs, search for repair shops for your furnace maker.

Why don't you call FR? It's under warranty.

That's great, but it doesn't repair the heater. They will still have to find an authorized service center for the furnace.

You should be able to talk to a tech guy. I have had warranty issues on two different brand trailers and both times I was able to talk to a tech guy and resolve the issue.

We have the owners manual, which is very generic and very useless, also it is a Suburban heater.

Exactly! It's hard finding someone when you're 100= miles from any metro area that deals with RV's. But thankfully a little mom & pop shop about 30 miles away is sending their tech out (~30miles to our place) tonight so hopefully he can get it going. Glad someone from work mentioned this place or I wouldn't have know it was even here as it wasn't listed in the phonebook

Call the furnace manufacturer, not Forest River. It is covered by its own warranty. Why cant you get it back to selling dealer?
BTW, even after it gets up to temp a furnace fan will continue to run for between 30 seconds and one minute to cool down the heat exchanger.
You can also try taking the thermostat off the wall, locate the two furnace wires and jump them together to see what happens? If it lights and works, after a couple of minutes remove the jumper and see what happens. Work normal? Thermostat issue. Still not working? Furnace issue.

If you're talking about the RV maker's manual, you are correct, they are very generic and pretty useless when it comes to troubleshooting. I guess they want you to think their units never have issues.

Here's a manual for the furnace:

And as I said, there are videos:

1) We are completely "hardwired in"- we are hooked up to septic, elec, etc. because we are living in it while our house is being built plus the dealer wants us to leave it down there 2-4weeks while they look at it
2)yes, I am aware of how the blower will run for a little while after shut down-that was not the case. It was still heating & running 30 minutes AFTER we shut the thermostat completely off & cut power to it. Everything else on the thermostat works-runs both A/C units, cycles, reachs temp, shuts off, adjust temp, comes back on.

Then I guess it is time to find a local mobile tech. It sounds like possible the control board has died.
