Broke one of the handles on my A&E 8500 awning today, pin won't retract. Handle appears to be pop riveted on the arm, anyone have experience with this, getting the part and then replacing it?

I had one break on my A&E 8500 this past spring - I went to a local rv dealer and bought a new (used) one for $15.00 . I didn't remove the old one from the arm - I drilled out the rivet that holds the handle on, and drilled out the rivet on the new one and took out the pin and spring. After installing the pin and the spring on the handle on the awning arm, I put a bolt through the handle and used a locking nut on it. Works like new.
Hope this helps.

One of mine broke, called the manufacturer, they shipped me a new one including the rivet out the same day at no cost.
