My top of the line Brookstone 366 5th. wheel built by Forest River is 18 months old and the seals around the outside of the slideouts are going to hell. The part of the seal that is joined to the wall is hard and the part that pushes against the slideout when it is closed is soft like a bike innertube. When the slideout closes it pinches the innertube part between the metal of the slideout and the hard rubber of the seal. So as I see it the vibration going down the road is destroying the seals. It is in the shop now so the fight with Brookstone over these piece of crap seals will be on shortly. The service manager at the shop looked like he did not have a clue how he was going to fix it other than put on new seals and see me in 18 months for new seals. Heat has nothing to do with it as I live in a cool climate and go south only in the winter.
