Camco step saver brace

Anyone use one of these? Thinking about giving it a try. Notice it only comes 1 to a pack and all the pics I see there's only one attached to the steps. I would think you would need one for each side?

I stack blocks of wood to do the same thing. Much better feeling when stepping on the bottom tread.

I bought one of the removable ones from CW. Haven't used it in years as we just didn't feel it was necessary and with the air down it usually wouldn't fit under the steps anyway on the Dutch Stars.

Yes, works great. It helps with the movement when entering the camper.

after reading some reviews I went with the other version:
https://www.amazon.com/Camco-43681-S...mco+step+saver

I liked the fact the first one mounted to the bottom step but I read several reviews where people had problems with them staying folded up when traveling. I'm sure I could've modified it to where it would stay up if I needed to but I just want to see what difference one makes under there. If I like this one and it works out I may go ahead and order the other type and try it also.

which style? The kind that mounts to the step and folds away or the stand alone type? I'd be curious what your experience has been if it's the fold away version. That's the one I really wanted and hopefully can talk to some people that use them. I have no problems ordering one down the road if it stays folded up.

We've been using one like Orion linked to in post #6 and it has served us well over the many years we've had it. I think it was one of the first things we purchased for an RV way back when we first started RVing, 1999. We've used it on both travel trailers and 5th wheels, give it a shot of WD40 every now and then and it's good to go. It does make the steps solid as a rock when properly adjusted.

Separate from the step but small enough not to be a storage nightmare. Made for a solid step but did require some adjustment after high wind shook the rig.

We use a very similar one, it has a pin that holds it up during transit, don't trust that clip ! But we love it, makes the steps into our TT so much more solid !
