Cameo microwave and washing machine failing due to electrical problems

Maiden voyage turned into disaster as the microwave and washer fried supposedly from a power surge. Waiting on Carriage to decide if this is what happened or other electrical problems occurred. What a trip.....
Just want some advice on this issue. Thanks, Tom

If you have a 30A entrance and service panel, a power surge is possible. If you have a 50A service panel and entrance a power surge is also possible, and- other electrical issues come into play. If the neutral is lost in the CG service wiring it can input as much as 240VAC to your RV. This will destroy anything connected to that feed. Read this and it might help with my explanation: RV Electric
From the left side menu you may view 30A wiring, 50A wiring, CG wiring, etc.
I regret your first use of your new 5er involved such an incident. You might consider buying an Energy Management System to prevent future electrical issues like that. One such EMS is Progressive Dynamics http://elecordset.com/moreinfo.aspx?...TECT.aspx&ai=M
They make the hard-wired model as pictured, and a model that plugs between your power cord and the CG pedestal.

In a large 5th wheel, we had the neutral wire come off and get up close and personal with one of the hot wires. We had 180 going in one wire and 60 going in the other. Since we were in the RV when this happened and got power turned off immediately, the only thing fried was one TV.

BTW, you need a surge guard.
