Hire someone that uses a Truckmounted plant in his van , it has the power to inject the cleaning solution into the carpet , the heated solution needed for proper cleaning and most importantly the powerful vacuum to suck out the most of the dirt and cleaning solution that was injected into the carpet as it was being cleaned. I've Been in professional carpet cleaning business for 28 years. And no damage will occur to your subfloors when hiring someone using a Truckmount plant , it's a good idea to also hire someone that is IICRC.ORG Certified good luck, you can find a certified cleaner by searching www.iicrc.org and find a certified cleaner near you.

Mickey,
We hired a local guy with a truck mounted unit from Healthy Homes. He explained the process he used and it's exactly what you suggested. Made a huge difference.
