Carport Size Question
2017 DRV MS38RSSA with Vanity Slide ordered. I want to build a carport so that all slides will open while under the carport. What width dimension would you recommend? Thanks

18' will give you ample room. Dimensions are usually outside and depending on type construction, the inside can be reduced significantly.

I built a 14 wide, that is just enough room to walk around it, not open basement storage or put slides out. My guess, is 16' wide for slides on one side, 20' wide for slides on both sides. I went 14' high on the sidewalls, you might consider more if you want better ventilation or improved lighting around the rig. JH

My garage is 18 x 44, door is 14 ft wide x 13.5 ft tall, sidewall is 15.5 ft high. Works well, with all slides open I can still walk completely around the fiver, climb the ladder, etc.

Oh, I'll bet you're excited.
102" plus exterior slide extensions: *basement hatches approx. 36"
Living room 36" (*opt. entertainment hatch 28")
Bed room slide 27"
Kitchen 20"
Vanity Slide 9"
13' 5"+ high, w/ 2" factory frame riser.
Be well.

Open the slides an take a tape measure to it. Front to back and side to side.
That will give you the dimensions you're looking for.
Don't forget to add room for walking around it when the slides are open.

It's 45' Length by 20' Width by 18' Height. You can open the slides and still walk around it. There's room for loading, unloading and organizing all the gear.

You also might want to consider the doors on your basement storage, with my 14' wide shed, I cannot open my doors to load or unload. I wish I had listened to my wife when she suggested 18'-20' wide... and please don't tell her what I said. JH

Hopefully he would have looked at one in person before ordering. Just go measure the one he looked at. If he didn't look at it prior to ordering he maybe in for a disappointment anyway.

Not a carport, but I am posting just to give you perspective on width with slides extended.
This is 30' wide, and as you can see with the slides deployed it eats up a good amount of space. Go as wide as you can if you want to open it up and have room to move around.
