Cedar Creek Hathaway 38FBD or Bighorn 3875FB
So, we've narrowed down our search for a new fifth wheel to the subject choices. The Bighorn would be without the half bath, having a storage/office space instead. I really like the floor plan of the Cedar Creek. Any thoughts on them?
While considering these new, I'm also looking at the used market - any models out there with similar floorplans?
I did find a 2015 Lifestyle 39FB that has never been sold, but they're asking almost 15k more than the new models above. I know it's supposed to be a better brand, and has a boxed frame, but is it worth that much more? Thanks.

Cedar Creek while the last few we looked at were less than stellar, their customer support is outstanding. bighorn is another Keystone product. lots love them.

I took a look at the web site, and the most interesting one is 384GK/GK-R. I see that's what you have - what's the difference?

BTW - for us, kitchen and bathroom are important. Have to have a pantry and counterspace in the kitchen, and no bathrooms that resemble a closet! Decent counter, storage, and no corner showers in the bathroom. I cook, and can't stand the average little bitty counter in an RV, and the wife has to have a decent bathroom.

I would prefer the fiberglass rear cap. GD doesn't offer it. Not a deal breaker but they sure look nicer with the FG cap. I would look at the frames and suspension first though.
Also if possible have them run the AC and see which ones quieter and cools best.
The main thing that sets the Cedar Creek apart is the hung wall structure as opposed to typical vacuum bonding or pinch rolling. Almost a zero chance for delam with the hung type wall. At least thats what the videos say.

They are both nice, the best price would be the way I would go.The Grand Design Solitude is OK,just can't get over the way they cheap out on the rear cap with the Flat back.

If the Lifestyle has 8000 lb axles with disk brakes, full body paint, residential fridge, 2 AC units, you can easily chew up the $15K difference. In other words compare the options for all the units against each other to insure that you are comparing apples to apples. Then make your decision. BTW, disk brakes are important!!

The "R" is the Residential Model. Check the on-line brochure on their site.

The FG Rear Cap, wasn't even a consideration. I personally could care less. The quality they put into their units, far out weigh a rear cap, IMHO. I've never heard of a GD wall ever coming de-laminated, either. Besides GD has one of best customer service's in the business. Quality build, quality control, and customer service are what sold me. Oh, and it's not a Thor product!
