I have a persistant leak associated with a vent. The plywood ceiling is just falling apart around the vent. I thought I had it stopped, but the reminants of Katrena got the better of it. My question is how best to repair the ceiling? Please, I know all about mold. Let that go and get to the repair.

We are in Norwood, but camping this weekend to watch the daughter's college soccer games.

Believe me, it is not condensation. I just need to try harder to fix the leak, it is the ceiling repair that worrys me.

Maybe we can make some other time.

In part when u or anyone determins the leak source, I would use Eternabond tape to seal around the vent instead of the so called caulk that is currently used by many RV manfactures. A friend of ours had a leak around one of his plastic roof domes(?) that evently caused the wood underneath to rot. When we took everything apart, the challenge of replacing the wood was more than what we wanted to tackle. We've decided to cover the opening with plexiglass secured with screws/small flat washers and then cover the edges with Eternabond tape. Hope some of this is of help............I used Eternabond instead of caulk when I had to replace a leaking plastic skylight and have not had any trouble since..
