I HAVE A 2001 1500-HD CREW CHEV.WITH A 6100. I PULL A 28'5TH. IT PULLS OK ON FLAT LAND, BUT WORKS HARD IN THE MOUNTAINS AND HILLS. I HEAR THERE IS A CHIP THAT I CAN GET THAT WILL GIVE IT MORE POWER. I NEED SOME MPUT ON IT. IS IT GOOD OR BAD FOR THE CHEV. OR IS IT A WASTE OF MONEY. THANKS FOR SOME INFO. TERRY H

I just put one in my 97 Ford F250. I got it from Troyer who advertises on here all the time. They were really nice, even gave me a discount because I was a member of this site.
I picked up about 25-28 hp and about the same torqe. It cost me about $200 but that was because I had a 97 and did not have an diagnostic port under my dash. You have a newer truck so you should have the port and that gives you a lot more flexability. I deffinitly feel it was wurth the money. Give them a call I am sure they can do something for you.

I had good luck by getting a custom PCM tune from Wester's Garage. What you do is call and talk to them and tell them what you are looking for. They will then custom program a PCM for you. When you get it, take your stock one out, put the new one in and send the stock unit back. I had one done for my GMC and couldn't believe the difference it made. The best place to find more information about is gm-trucks.com
