Compressor for our new RV......

Our 2018 Momentum's tire pressure is supposed to be 110 psi. What should I be looking for in a good, small, portable compressor that can handle that kind of pressure? My 30 gal., 125 max psi compressor at home had trouble topping off the tires. It pretty much had to be running in order to inflate them.

Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be appreciated!!

Check out this one. Sears used to sell one just like it which is what I've had for several years. It has served me well.

The VIAIR compressors work pretty good... 150 PSI.
Available on Amazon. VIAIR 300P Portable.
If you buy one, be sure to get an extra hose.

I also have the 400rv version. I chose it since it has an auto shutoff. The auto shut off allows you to let go of the trigger and measure the pressure with the same tool u use to fill. Important for me on my dually and faster fill/check on other tires

Any inflation system needs to be in the order of 20-25 PSI above the pressure you want to obtain. The little compressors mentioned above are good and will do what you want. I installed a CO2 inflation system in my 5th and really like it. Fast and silent and I can use it for other high pressure, high volume uses.

Yep, you need a 150 psi compressor to air up your tires to 110 psi. As you air up, the air pressure inside the tire creates resistance to the incoming air and resistance multiplies as inside pressure nears the compressors max capacity.

I have one of these. Works well. About $100 from Amazon and elsewhere.

I have a CO2 tank I carry in the Jeep. Sometimes use it to top up RV tire. No doubt it's quickest and has high pressure. Downsides are the cost to refill is becoming quite high, have to endure it's got gas, and sometimes hard to find place to refill.

I bought a DeWalt 6 gal. pancake compressor that goes up to 165 psi. It's a 120 volt unit and because of the 6 gallon tank, it seems to have quite a lot of reserve before the compressor kicks on. My Toy Hauler has an onboard 5500W generator, so available power is never an issue. Between two outside recept. on the T.H. and 50' air hose, I can access any of the tires that need air....T.H. and truck.

We have had the Sears version for a number of years now, and it works great to to off our 110psi tires.

The Porter Cable 150 psi pancake compressors are at Home Depot for 99.00 and change. Used to be $169.00. I bought mine on sale at Lowes and have been very happy with mine as I air to 120-125 on the trailer.

Any home center will have a pancake type compressor able to do the trick for tires. Not only them it is great for blowing dust around in the basement & is a super campfire starter on stubborn to get going wood.

Any idea on how this compares with using a spare scuba tank?
