My standard cable wouul get caught on the corner of my hitch when I made a turn and pull out the safty pin locking the brakes. This happened to me twice. Both times I was lucky I was in remote areas with no traffic.
I was at a dealer buying a water hose. At the front counter they had the curly que safety cables. Cool just what I needed. It keeps the cable off the bed of the truck. It is now very unlikely it will get caught on anything. It is from Fastway and is called 'zip cable'

That's just what I need. The pin has pulled out on me too, except I was turning off a fairly busy road into a grocery store. Lucky everyone was paying attention. Thanx for sharing this.

I just moved my cable attachment location to the middle of the tailgate - never gets hung up there! Oh if my tailgate ever falls off I'll know about it long fore I get to the campsite!
