Cooler security

We have an older 5er, no basement, no slide outs. PO had a well constructed carrier built on the back, 3' wide and width of the camper. On this, we have mounted a box to hold a portable grill, a Honda EV6010 generator w/fuel tank and battery, and a large Igloo ice chest. I can lock everything else down, but can't figure out how to secure the ice chest to stop theft. Because we have the usual small refer, we really need the chest for beverages and extra food storage. My concern is, that any time we leave the TV, or overnight in a parking lot/rest area, the cooler becomes a prime target. Has anybody figured out a way to protect their ice chest?

I woudl put the ice chest inside my towed, or tow vehicle. Short of boxing it and locking the box (many do) the only options are ugly.
