I especially like the Q series Kurt fifth wheel hitches.

When I was installing rails, I did use Kurt under bed mounting brackets. I went with the B&W Patriot 16K hitch because it breaks into two pieces in about 2 seconds. The two pieces is very easy to lift and remove for storage.

Note: The holes on my Kurt mounting brackets did require substantial drilling as the holes didn't line up as they should have. It's a really heavy duty piece, however.

Might look at the new Hensley 5th wheel hitch. It combines all the features of the other hitches into one package. My brother has one and it it a big improvement over his new, old Curt. Costs more but worth it.

When I bought my dually it already had rails in it... so I compared the Curt, Husky, and the B&W patriot side by side at the dealer. DW informed me that she would except nothing less than the B&W for her new 5er... it is built substantially heavier than the others in the same or even higher weight rating.

plus trot clarification. Are you saying that you looked at the Hensley and your wife liked the B&W and that's what you bought? Or did you not look at it and just picked the one you did?
It is nice to have the many hitch options available to us.

This^^. There is just no comparison in the build quality and "stoutness" between them. My b&w is rated at 25k and 5k pinweight and obviously I would never come close to those weights, but the build quality and engineering in it certainly passes the eye test

I looked at the Curt, Husky, and B&W... the Mrs noticed how much stouter the B&W hitch was. It is very clear difference looking at them side by side.

Also, the B&W is has a lifetime warranty. A friend started to have a problem with the head of his patriot hitch head after a stupid mistake he made, it was one of the first ones made the first year they started producing them. He called them up stated what he did, asked how much for a new one, they said no problem what's the serial number, they sent him a new hitch head for free. They didn't want the old one back. Stated they stand behind our product 100% lifetime warranty never to fail. That's why I bought the Companion hitch to go with my B&W over under gooseneck hitch. IMHO they make the best, simplist, and toughest hitch on the market.

I have a Kurt Q20 slider. Easy to hook up and unhook. Does the job without drama. Has a 10 year warranty. It is an excellent hitch at its price point.

Q20 here. Great hitch. Would buy it again in a minute. Never had any problems and never heard a peep from it. No popping or other noises like someone else mentioned. Guessing they may have an installation issue causing the noise. Not mine. Simple and safe.

Just read where a B&W released the pin after hitting a heavy bump causing the trailer to drop onto the bed of the truck. That post is on here (irv2) somewhere. Either way. Good luck and happy travels

You don't say what B&W you have. I would assume it's a RVK3600 for the RAM puck system? If so it is actually rated for 25K towing and 6,250# pin.

About CURT Manufacturing

Curt website states that their products are made in their own plant In Eau Claire, Wis. I haven't found any info to disprove this. Where did you get your info?

Sorry read more clearly and please give them a call.

ALL Curt 5er hitches ARE Made in China for a FACT.

Lots of mention of US Made trailer hitches but no mention of 5er hitches.

"CURT is the leading manufacturer of American-made towing products. We specialize in custom-fit trailer hitches and custom wiring harnesses, produced right here in the United States. "

Bottom line call them or just LOOK at a CURT 5er hitch.

So what if they are made in China. Your truck was built in Mexico. Don't read where you bash that anywhere just because it was built in Mexico.
