Dish Tailgater

Does anyone have any experience with the Dish Tailgater? I use a tripod right now but this sure looks interesting to me

Thanks

We purchased a Tailgator at the Tampa RV SuperSjhow on january 2012. We mounted it on our rear ladder. So far we are very pleased with the unit. If I park and can't get a signal I remove one bolt, one wire and move it to the a place where the signal isn't blocked and hook it back up. Tuen on the receiver it sets itself up. Magic. After trying to get a KLM to work with dish this is a dream set up. I'd purchase it agin in a heartbeat!

I recently purchased the Tailgater from Dish Network and have been really pleased with the performance. I have used it in Texas and Arkansas so far. No issues at all. I do sometimes have to work at getting a clear shot of the southern sky. I have an iPhone app (dishformyRV) that I use to determine the clearest path when there are trees or obstacles near our campsite. The app uses my camera view to indicate where the three satellites are located by superimposing three red dots on my "live" camera view. It's very handy and saves me some setup time. I also like that the Tailgater is powered through the coax cable so I don't have to run a separate power cord to the unit. I added it to my home Dish account as an additional receiver for $7 per month. I am very happy with the Tailgater so far. I just ordered a tripod platform from Winegard that is made for their Carryout unit. They say it is compatible with the VuCube which is the same as the Tailgater and made by the same company. I hope to elevate my unit a couple of feet just to keep it off the ground and out of the mud.

I have had mine for about 3 weeks. Very happy with it & like the previous post they only charge me $7 a month for the same service that I get at home.
