Disk Brake Upgrade

recently installed disk brakes on my trailer. the system came complete with all needed parts. the tubing was already double flared. took me about 3 weeks but i had to work between the weather. i'm a slow worker and this was my first installation. the selling co will come to ur home and do the install in abt 3 hrs.
electric to hydraulic transducer was installed in the landing gear area and all wires were picked up in that area (wasn't necessary to fish cable to the pin box).
ive only made one pull with them so i don't know what the optimal brake control setting is. i put it on 6. didn't see any difference in stopping when doing a gradual stop. the difference is when u press a little harder; u can feel the trailer stopping. the regular electric brakes didn't have anything beyond a normal stop.
this is one option that wasn't available from factory when i bought (it is now). i'm really happy with the improvement in braking.
i did have to buy the loom for the wiring (i prefere all wiring in conduit). bought a grommet for brake line where fed thru metal bulkhead.

i used a drill, tubing wrench, and tubing bender (that looks like a pair of pliers).

purchased kit from performance trailer braking. great support.

Got mine there 3 yrs ago. You might want to try starting at 4.5 on your controller. It is real easy to lock those brakes up and flat spot a tire. Been there done that.

I may have had your company do the install on my trailer. Actual time was about 5 hours. After the install, we did a trip from Michigan to the Grand Canyon and Albuquerque. Very happy with the brakes. One of the top two mods to the trailer. As noted, it you really stomp on the brakes, you WILL know the trailer is slowing down!
An additional benefit of discs, if you blow out a wheel seal, only one side of the disc is affected, you still have 50% of the effective braking.

ill will reduced setting. i really dont want to lock them up.
the leaking grease seal leak looks like it would be easy to see when it starts. may be able to save the pads if caught in time.

i had been wanting these for several years. some friends had them and upgraded axles installed at a rally this past aug. i didnt time them but there were at least two working on them and it didnt take long.

they have videos on the installation. there is one point (due to the video quality) that it appears that they r piping the "T's" different from the diagram. follow the diagram.
