The real problem w/the cheapo restricter "regulators" is that they eventually clog w/debris & calcification. I had a nice looking brass unit. One day no water at all. EngineerAnnie said a few words that needn't be repeated to get me motivated, and I unplugged from the faucet to find full flow (@~70psi) from the park, and zippo when I put the restricter back on. New ones work better than old ones for that reason. I went to a watts. Now unless park pressure is over 80 I just hook up. My rig has 1/2" pex all around and withstands higher pressure fine. Over 80 & I jump for joy filling w/the RO system.

We have always used the brass barrel type pressure regulator. I think it is pre-set at around 15 -20 lbs. Not sure though. Has a gage on it, actually I have two of them and get the same readout which I thought was on the low side.
Our CG owner recently put on a restricter for the entire camp since some owners were not putting on regulators he was afraid of being held liable. What is the recommended presure anyway? Can you purchase another one that is adjustable from RV supplier?

just ordered one off of Amazon.com adjustable one. The preset one I have now I think is too low of pressure.

The best option for quality and function would be a Watts H560 with a gauge or H263A with a gauge. The 560 does 2-2.5 gpm and the 263A does 4-4.5 gpm. A typical 1/2" garden hose at your home flows at about 5 gpm which is probably way more than you'd need for an RV unless you are running everything at the same time, but you'd be filling up your waste tanks pretty fast.

The first *inexpensive* inline type filter we bought failed within a few months. I only knew because I had installed a permanent pressure gauge inside our trailer under the kitchen sink and could check the pressure easily. Bought another identical one and it was fine. But now we have a new TT and I want to install one it inside too. Sometimes cheaping out on something is not the best thing.

It's recommended to install a regulator at the cg faucet at the pedestal so that you can protect your hose from excessive pressure. This also helps crud from getting into your hose as well. But, don't forget to take it home. I've seen a few left behind. Check the screen in your regulator often as they can easily clog up and restrict flow.

If you happen to be using an inline filter of some sort, that will cut the flow down a bit and you might be better off with a higher flow regulator. I had two 5" filters (sediment + carbon) in series under the kitchen sink in our last TT and that cut the flow down drastically. I will only install one the next time. The only way to improve that would be using large "whole house" type filters. BTW, those small inline filters installed on your incoming hose don't do a lot but are better than nothing.

Some of the owners in our CG are upset that the CG owner put on a "whole CG restricter" to regulate the pressure. He did so to protect himself from liability so I hear.
That to me is questionable. Does any one else believe that CG owners have a responsibilty to regulate water pressure or is it the responsibility of the RV'r?

That was the first I heard of a CG doing this. Curious how many other CG's you have stayed at do this. Problem at ours is that most people have high water demand nearly the same times and when that happens our faucets/shower barely drips.

One campground in Austin, TX. has sign on the office door that tells you a regulator is suggested. The water pressure is 120 psi. I use a regulator all the time.

Have you used the regulator yet? If so, how do you like it?

We have our 5th wheel set up on a permanent lot and the water pressure in the shower stinks! If I purchase and install one of these it will it increase the water pressure?
