Redwood came with 3k hitch which we reinforced. Car weighs 2770 lbs. it's set up same as it would be behind a gas MH. Blue Or towbar and baseplate, SMI Stay in Play Duo brake system. Coach has full MorRyde IS independent suspension with Bilstein shocks and H rated tires. Truck has Comfort Ride Hitch and MorRyde pinbox on the trailer. Rig goes down the road totally straight, no drama, and yes, I've had idiots cut me off and had to climb all over brakes. No issues

I always have to bring a lot of toys with me so, my experience has been with a bumper pull toyhauler with a quad rack I built on my dually, then traded for a 35' 5er pulling a small 10' long braked trailer behind it for toys. Never got stopped in CA with it being a 5er. I also have a class A license with doubles/triples endorsement. Went to a 33' Holiday Rambler gasser pulling a 16' box trailer, which was an absolute nightmare to drive. Underbraked, underpowered, and crosswinds, forget keeping it in your lane.
I am sure the higher end DP's would handle a lot better pulling a trailer.
Finally I got rid of the MH and went to a 40' 5er toyhauler.
Find a combination that works for you, my 2 cents.

I wish you good luck and safe travels. Unfortunately common sense say's you are in a high risk category with that set up. There is a reason that some states don't allow that kind of double tow.

My son hauls double grain trailers with his semi and when the pup starts wagging, things get real interesting. Even a 100k lb front trailer gets pushed around by the wagging smaller pup.

Western states allow 3 trailers and yes they wiggle but in all my travels and i travel quite a bit, i have never seen a set of triples on there side. Lots of singles and doubles though. Also those sites like you poste about laws are not very accurate. You have to check with each state you are going to travel in.

Which states are not accurate in the posted site? The mid-west states, I know well seem to be right on.

California requires a actual CDL with a doubles endorsement, if your registered in Cali

No a Crew Cab One Ton DRW is not as nimble as a Jeep, but it will not be any harder to get around in.
We get around just fine in our Ram 3500 Crew Cab long bed DRW.

The post site says that triple towing is not allowed in CA with a RV licenses. The requirement of a Commercial Drivers Licenses is a whole different class of rules, not typical of a RV owner.
If my mid-west state does allows double tows, I still can't go into CA with that double tow set up using the same drivers licenses (legally).
