Question Downsizing

I currently have a 2001 Wanderer 28 ft BH (31 overall). The kids are out of the house and the wife an I want to get back to some of the more remote places this unit will not fit.

I am shopping for a 20 to 24 FT 5th wheel trailer, but everything I am finding is 26 foot or bigger. The size equivalent I am looking for would match up to a 16-18 foot towable. Trailer does not need to be fancy, including NO TV

Any help on where to start looking would be appreciated.

Thanks

No help here.. just interest.

20 years ago there were some small 5ers but now (and I've been looking) they just seem to keep getting bigger and bigger.

Arctic Fox/Nash made a 23 footer up until 2009 or so (called a 21-5, w/o slide and 23-5 w/slide) . My 24-5N (25ft, forward bulkhead to after bulkhead) is considered small.

Build your own.. short 5er utility trailer with a pick-up slide-in mounted on it. Or.. have a race care trailer with living space built (most are 12 or 14ft living space) , just have a 4ft "race car" bay behind the living quarters.

Note: If you do "build" one use big burly 16 in truck tires, avoid another issue.

God luck.

I know all the higher end units are longer. I also wish someone would make a 25 to 30 footer higher end 5th wheel.

There is a 2005 Wildcat 25'9" FW on sale in IRV2 Classifieds section for $11,800 if you enterested.

I found a Keystone Cougar 244RLSWE that might work. Anyone have any long term experience with this brand. Also dealer cost information would be helpful.

Thanks
