Dreaded Steps
Would like to get a fifth wheel but the steps are a real problem for my wife.
Is there any practical solution? Hope so.

Some of the newer fifth wheels use the Step Up system from Moryde. Look it up, is terrific.
Very solid steps with 500 pound capacity rating. My Cedar Creek 29ik came with them.
Can be retrofitted on many others.

They can fit lifts to MH's, why not a 5th wheel?

How long are you at a place. I have seen perm sites with nice ramps. But if you are moving then that will not work.
The other option might be to buy a toy hauler and use the garage ramp.

Just saw on the internet the other day, they also make one with a ramp. I have no experience with it.

You can use the steps without the porch if you want and they take about a minute to set up. Great unit but a bit pricey.

are you talking about the steps inside that go to the upper floor of the 5th wheel or the steps outside? we have seen TT that have identical floorplans to most 5th wheels if she has problems with the interior steps, then you might need to stay with a TT

If she has trouble getting the she'll have trouble once inside going up the inside steps.
Sounds like a motorhome would be better. Many have very low steps.

Another vote for TorkLift Glowstep Revolution. Light weight, easy to deploy (especially in tight quarters like storage lots!) and very solid!

As somebody looking at steps for a just purchased (used) 5th wheel. I would say find one with a wider door first. My 5er came with a 24" wide door which REALLY limits your choices in steps. Morryd is out of the question as they don't make a step that narrow.
Pretty much if you get a 24" wide door you have a choice of the Solidstep made by lippert and the RV-co port-a-step. The torklift are just way outside what I want to spend.
So far I am leaning to the RV-Co $475 and you get a huge 24X24 top step and you can raise it so that last step up into the camper isn't so high. For comparison the Lipperts are $410 and the Torks are $699.00

Morryde steps are wonderful. DH has bad knees and no problem at all with these steps. I love the stability they provide!

I have the Morryde Step above on ours and love them. Super sturdy and they are much easier for our dog too.
