RV Brand aside, I dislike many of the mattresses put into RV's. I wouldn't say it is a DRV issue. My 2 previous 5er's had terrible mattresses. My current 5er had a very comfortable mattress, but when we went full-time we put our sleep number mattress in (from the house). I have no issues raising the bed to get to the under storage.

If it is that bad, replace it.

I can only guess DRV has changed mattress suppliers. Sandy and I both think that the mattress in our Mobile Suites is firmer yet more comfortable than any of the name brand mattresses we have in the sticks and bricks. As John said, though, there are too many replacements available (traditional, memory foam and pneumatic) to live with a mattress you don't like.

I'm not sure how your KS bed is supported, but in our Arctic Fox it has a webbed lattice supported by some 1 1/4" thinwall steel tubing. We are both a little on the robust side and the bed tended to sag in the middle due to the steel frame bending slightly. I made a support for the center piece so it no longer sags, made a world of difference. The dogs no longer roll to the center low spot, nor do we.... I can send photos if your setup is similar.

We had our king for 5 days. Had to replace with a queen due to size of regular king. Love the added space in bedroom. Frame was easily modified.
Everyone has different need for a bed and we always changed it to suite our need.
