All I know, is when I go and look at a new RV and the name Thor comes up? I run. To many friends have had a education with them. And it wasn't good.

Thor RV makes everything from Airstream to Coleman trailers (yeah, Coleman...like the lantern).
Recreational Vehicles - Thor Industries, Inc.

We and many like us are very happy with our Thor RV's. We had a Dutchmen Denali TT (another Thor product) - loved it.

Thor acquires brands that are available and (I believe) that have demonstrated ability to be successful. Obviously DRV fits that mold.

Safe travels

Thor bought Heartland because it was a very successful manufacturer with very good innovations that did change the RV industry. One is the 88 deg front on 5th wheels. Its the standard now with all the manufactures. Making standard box truck capable to tow 5th wheel trailers.

I did like a lot of units an knew nothing about Heartland. But when it came time to buy most high end manufacturer were out of business. We owned a hy end unit that went out of business. But after 6 years of Fulltiming in the the present, it is in much better shape the the previous after 2 years. And will surely last beyond the 15 years we owned the previous unit.

And the frame previous unit was 1/2 the strength of the Heartland. It was my 1st priority not to get an other flimsy tube frame unit.

If those companies swallowed by Thor, where actually so great, how could Thor afford to buy them up???
Eventually, some start up will pop up to fill the void, offering a quality product at a reasonable price, and Thor will be the one getting bought out.
The market left alone, takes care of itself. Things only go awry when government gets involved, and starts playing favorites..

Thor Industries - About Thor - Our History

Thor has been steady in growth since it's creation with the acquisition of Airstream in 1980. The 2008 market crash really thinned out the herd of RV makers and those that survived are now riding a wave of industry growth....good times for RV builders and buyers.

And the RV industry is far from becoming a monopoly with the BIG companies like Thor, Jayco, and Winnie plus the many, many others fighting for your business.

Great times for the RV business

LOL...I had to look it up. Never heard of it.
You know they do not make anything - right? It is just a dealership network.
